Professor Nadia Wager

Co-Investigator & WP1 (Project Management) Co-Lead, Teesside University, UK

Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Teesside University, with previous academic appointments at the University of Huddersfield, University of Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire New University. She specialises in forensic psychology and victimology, with a strong focus on evaluating support services for victims of serious crimes.

Her research has informed national policy and practice, including work for the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, evaluations of trauma support for victims of modern slavery, and studies on outcomes for survivors of historic child sexual abuse. She has also led a national police survey on child sexual abuse prevention. Professor Wager’s key interests lie in understanding the scale and impact of victimisation—particularly sexual violence and modern slavery—and exploring justice pathways for survivors, including the use of restorative justice in sexual violence cases.
